Meeting the Kids at Debs House

Getting to Know the Kids in Deb's House Orphanage in Romania
Thank you Elizabeth Alex for these great stories!
Georgianna is 8 years old. She has lived at Deb's House her whole life. As a baby she was very shy but has grown into a smart and bubbly little girl.
Georgianna does well in school. Her teachers report she is on track with the rest of the students academically and well behaved. She wants to take dance classes or martial arts class.
Georgianna is also a sensitive child. She is helpful to the staff and kind to the other kids at Deb's House.
Last summer Georgianna was able to have a birthday party at a local playground that included all the kids from Deb's House, pizza and cake. Her one birthday gift was a new purple shorts outfit. Georgie was so excited that on the walk home, she shouted to all the people on the street "Today is my birthday and I had a party just for me!"

Vasile (vas-e-lay) is 12 and the oldest of the kids. He has perhaps had the most difficult time. He watched all of the other children his age leave the house, and he thought he would be coming to the United States to be adopted too, but Romania ended international adoption before he could leave. He
sometimes feels very alone and rejected because of that.
Vasile is a good big brother to the little kids. He is smart, and starting to do well in school with more direction and guidance from the staff in Romania and volunteers here in the US who email him.
We recently arranted for Vasile to take wrestling classes, his coach says he shows some potential. He likes animals, and he enjoys watching DVDs from the Discovery Channel on a portable DVD player someone donated to the house. He also likes to go to the movies.
